What is a Global Liaison?

The MEN2B Liaison serves as the Foundation’s local connection and advocate within their country. This volunteer role acts as a bridge between MEN2B community members and the MEN2B Foundation, helping ensure individuals and families feel supported, connected, and informed.

Liaisons are the Foundation’s “boots on the ground,” helping us stay connected to members, understand healthcare systems in different countries, and identify opportunities to expand support for those living with MEN2B.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, compassionate, and passionate about supporting others in the MEN2B community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Connection

  • Serve as a welcoming contact for MEN2B members in your country.

  • Respond to messages and inquiries through Facebook and other social media platforms.

  • Connect with newly identified MEN2B patients and families and introduce them to the Foundation.

  • Help identify and reach additional individuals living with MEN2B in your region.

            Member Support

  • Maintain and update a confidential member contact spreadsheet.

  • Send monthly birthday cards to members in your region.

  • Coordinate annual holiday (Christmas) cards.

  • Send sympathy or memory cards when appropriate.

  • Provide the Foundation with updates on members and any needs they may have.

            Healthcare Awareness

  • Learn about and stay informed on your country’s healthcare system.

  • Share important healthcare updates or changes that may affect MEN2B patients.

  • Help build a directory of doctors and specialists in your country who have treated MEN2B patients.

  • Gather recommendations from members about trusted healthcare providers.

Advocacy & Support

  • Serve as a local advocate for MEN2B patients and families.

  • Assist the Foundation with occasional logistical needs, such as mailing or shipping items locally.

  • Help communicate Foundation updates, programs, and resources to members.

            Meetings & Collaboration

  • Participate in virtual Liaison Meetings six times per year.

  • Be willing to help co-lead or support virtual community meetings when needed.

Qualities We Value

We welcome individuals who are:

  • Compassionate and community-minded

  • Organized and dependable

  • Comfortable communicating with others

  • Willing to learn and share knowledge

  • Passionate about supporting people living with MEN2B
